Joe Sorge is the environmental consultant retained by MQI to investigate the embankments constructed against the quarry faces in the northwest quadrant of the quarry, and to make recommendations. He submitted several reports to NJ DEP in conjunction with this work.
Below is a link to one dated March 2011 that he also submitted to the Planning Board for hearings on the rehab plan in 2011, what I call Plan 2011. Mr. Sorge testified at a hearing on December 20, 2011

This is a concept plan for the quarry tract that was first designed in 2004. It was revised in 2009 to reflect the imported fill in the northwest corner. The plan drawing is below. The revised plan was handed out at Charter Day in 2009 on a single sheet. The drawing above was on one side and a brief narrative description was on the other. To read this brief description go to brief description.
I planned to submit the revised plan to the Planning Board during the board’s review of the Master Plan in 2009 with the drawing above and a detailed narrative description. To read this go to detailed description.
Citing ongoing litigation between MQI/Tilcon and the township, the Planning Board attorney advised board members to not discuss or comment on the quarry land or my proposal for it. They followed his advice. I was not permitted to submit the concept plan and its description.
The topography on the quarry tract today differs somewhat from that used to design the plan in 2004 and revise it in 2009. I believe the concept plan still illustrates what is possible.
